What does a Shipping & Receiving / Class E Driver do?

As a Shipping & Receiving / Class E Driver at LK Transport, LLC, your day will be filled with diverse tasks. From handling incoming and outgoing shipments to operating a forklift with precision, you'll keep our warehouse running like clockwork. Expect to utilize your organizational skills for accurate data entry into our TMS, ensuring seamless logistics coordination.

Your Class E license will come in handy if we need you to hit the road for deliveries and pickups, representing our company with professionalism. This full-time position follows a Monday to Friday schedule, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, offering consistency for your work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shipping & Receiving:
    • Manage the receipt and shipment of all products, materials, and supplies.
    • Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and report any discrepancies.
    • Prepare shipping documents and ensure compliance with all shipping regulations.
    • Maintain an organized and efficient warehouse environment.
  • Forklift Operations:
    • Safely operate forklifts to move, load, and unload materials.
    • Perform daily equipment checks and report any maintenance needs.
    • Ensure the safe handling and storage of all products.
  • Data Entry & TMS Operations:
    • Accurately enter shipping and receiving data into the TMS.
  • Driving Responsibilities:
    • Safely operate company vehicles to transport goods as needed.
    • Ensure compliance with all driving regulations and company policies.
    • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • Proven experience in shipping and receiving operations.
    • Proficiency in operating forklifts with appropriate certification.
    • Familiarity with asset-based fleet operations is preferred.
    • Previous driving experience is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Basic computer skills for data entry and TMS operations.
    • Ability to multitask and handle various warehouse and driving tasks efficiently.
  • License:
    • Must possess a valid Class E driver's license.
    • Must possess a valid Forklift certification.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) as necessary.
    • Capable of standing, walking, and operating a forklift for extended periods.
