JOB OVERVIEW

Manages the operational aspects of the Credit Union’s Information Technology. Oversees and directs the day-to-day IT operations ensuring the confidentiality, availability and integrity of systems, services, and infrastructure.  Responsible for developing and implementing applications, servers, and networks, responding to help desk requests and monitoring system stability and performance, while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations and alignment with the Credit Union’s objectives.  


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following job functions.  Other job functions may be assigned from time to time. 

  • Works with the COO to develop the annual budget and ensure that department purchases and contracts stay within budget limits and aids in identifying information technology improvements.  
  • Monitor servers, networks and computer systems for anomalies and performance issues.  Consistently assesses system data, error logs and user submitted tickets to determine whether systems require updates, repairs, or replacement. 
  •  Directly support end users and implement planned projects.  Ensures that end user support is prioritized and assigned via the help desk ticketing system. Manages the escalation of end user requests, to ensure that issues do not further impact other teams or members. 
  •  Manage vendor relations and monitor and review IT contracts to ensure that the contract terms meet all regulatory requirements, are in line with the budget, and are generally advantageous to the Credit Union. 
  •  Oversees upgrades and installations to ensure the systems remain stable, secure, accessible, and able to efficiently process end user tasks. 
  •  Prepares and submits monthly reports to the Chief Operations Officer and/or Chief Executive Officer where necessary on matters of information security and technology. 
  • Keeps management timely informed of issues and resolves problems. 
  • Oversees the End-User Cybersecurity Awareness Training to employees.  
  • Directs and controls information technology activities and ensures that applicable security measures are followed. 
  • Accountable for improving business continuity processes for the organization, including disaster recovery, departmental recovery plans, collaboration with departmental leaders to develop business impact assessment, computer security and loss prevention plans, antivirus, and firewall protections, etc. 
  • Develop plans for implantation of new projects, coordinating process with project head. Provide well-defined plans including procedures, documentation, deadlines, and accountability. 
  • Investigate new techniques, equipment, and data processing methods as needed. Evaluate technical requirements for new or upgradeable hardware/software. 
  • Support the credit union’s local area and wide area network hardware and software to ensure that back-end functions, systems, PCs, servers, and all peripheral products are operational. 
  • Research and diagnose IT problems within the entire infrastructure, troubleshoot, and provide solutions.  Test solutions to ensure a correct solution. 
  • Administer the phone system. 
  • Act as primary contact for all application systems problems.  Access, debug, test and document problems or recommend solutions that involve new applications. Follow up on problem resolution and inform clients of status. Test and debug all systems before moving to the live directory. 
  • Responsible for assigned technical aspects of conversions, file expansions, and interfaces. 
  • Remain knowledgeable of operations and the computer systems within client departments to provide comprehensive assistance.
