SCS Interiors is growing and has an opening for a Production Technician to join our team. The Production Technician will primarily be responsible for the assembly of foam kits for the seats we make, but there will also be opportunities to cross train in other areas of the Production department.

The individual should be able to use hand and power tools supporting product development and upholstering, as well as be able to complete the required paperwork accurately. Transferable skills such as carpentry, landscaping, or general assembly are great to mention.

Our customers are primarily in the aviation, transportation, and commercial sectors. We are a busy and growing family-owned manufacturing company, located in the Duluth Airpark.

Primary Responsibilities:

We are looking for someone to build foam kits for different types of seating (boat cushions, airplane seats, office furniture, etc). This will involve trimming, gluing, and stacking foam to create the correct shape.

We also have a lot of sub-departments with opportunities to cross-train and learn many different processes, listed below. We try to find the best fit for each person and see where they excel. This role does require good attention to detail and the ability to follow a specific process.

 

Duties/Departments include:

  • Creating foam kits
  • Installing seat covers
  • Hand-stitching
  • Furniture Upholstery
  • Upholstering interior parts of planes/automobiles
  • Cladding prep & assembly

Work hours are 6:30a-5p Monday - Thursday.


Requirements:

  • Ability to use hand and power tools
  • Ability to read/write in English
  • Ability to read CAD drawings/blueprints (on the job training provided)
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Manual dexterity to pull/push/stretch objects and material
  • Can see clearly and in color
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs occasionally

 

Work hours are 6:30a-5p Monday - Thursday.

This position is full-time with benefits.

Salary: Starting at $18+ with set milestones for growth in role and responsibilities (~6 months, 1 year, 18 months, etc).
