Job Description: As a Commodities Broker, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating trades and providing brokerage services for clients in the commodities market. Your responsibilities will include connecting buyers and sellers of physical commodities, such as metals, energy products, agricultural goods, and other raw materials, and executing trades on behalf of your clients. You will need excellent communication skills, market knowledge, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic trading environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Build and maintain relationships with clients, including producers, consumers, traders, and investors, to understand their trading needs and objectives.
  2. Identify trading opportunities in the commodities market and provide timely market insights and recommendations to clients.
  3. Execute buy and sell orders for physical commodities on behalf of clients, ensuring accurate and timely trade execution.
  4. Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery arrangements with counterparties to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients.
  5. Monitor commodity prices, supply-demand dynamics, geopolitical developments, and other factors affecting commodity markets.
  6. Analyze market data, trends, and news to assess market conditions and identify trading strategies.
  7. Manage risk exposure by implementing risk management techniques, such as hedging strategies and position limits.
  8. Stay informed about regulatory requirements, market regulations, and industry best practices in commodities trading.
  9. Maintain accurate records of transactions, client communications, and market data, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  10. Collaborate with colleagues and other departments within the brokerage firm to optimize client service delivery and support business development initiatives.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field.
  2. Previous experience in commodities trading, brokerage, or related industries preferred.
  3. Strong understanding of commodity markets, including knowledge of specific commodities, trading practices, and market participants.
  4. Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and negotiate favorable terms for transactions.
  5. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data, track price trends, and identify trading opportunities.
  6. Proficiency in trade execution platforms, order management systems, and other trading technologies.
  7. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  8. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  9. Regulatory compliance knowledge, including understanding of relevant trading regulations, reporting requirements, and risk management practices.
