Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse
Location: Springfield, VT
Springfield Hospital’s Emergency Department, located at 25 Ridgewood Road in Springfield, VT, is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. Our Emergency Department is fully staffed around the clock and serves approximately 14,000 patient visits each year.
Job Summary:
The RN will be responsible for assessing, triaging, and providing emergency care for patients of all ages. The RN must be equipped to handle a variety of emergency situations, quickly assess incoming patients, and prioritize their medical needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality emergency care to patients in a fast-paced environment.
- Perform triage assessments to determine the severity of patients' conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient assessments.
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by physicians.
- Collaborate with physicians, physician assistants, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatment plans, and post-care instructions.
- Document patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system (EPIC).
- Respond effectively to a range of emergency medical situations and make quick decisions.
- Maintain a professional and compassionate approach to patient care in all situations.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including those related to safety and infection control.
Additional Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of current ED experience in a hospital setting; 3 months of minimum travel experience required.
- Education: ASN required; BSN preferred.
- Certifications/Licenses:
- Current NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
- BLS (AHA).
- ACLS (AHA).
- PALS (AHA) or ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course).
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course).
- CEU Contact Stroke 4 Hours.
- Must have a current Nursys verification.
Skills & Abilities:
- Demonstrated triage training and experience.
- Strong clinical knowledge and analytical abilities.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a busy environment.
- Must be available to work holidays and flexible shifts as needed.

- Work History: Updated resume detailing relevant experience.
- Skills Checklist: Must be completed within 1 year of submission.
- References: 1 Supervisory Signed Reference from within the past two years of employment.
- License/Certifications: Current Nursys, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and BLS must be uploaded with profile.
- Hourly Rate: As posted
- Holiday Pay: 1.25x rate for holiday shifts.
- Completion Bonus: $2,500 upon successful completion of the assignment. Requirements include:
- No behavioral or clinical issues.
- No holiday RTO; availability for holiday coverage is required.
- Up to 5 days of RTO allowed (non-negotiable).
- No call-outs preferred.
- Must work until January 18, 2025.
