Lifesaving Systems is the global leader in the design, development, and manufacture of Helicopter and Marine Rescue Equipment. We specialize in providing rescue, safety, and survival equipment not only for search and rescue responders, but also for industry professionals and operators working in the maritime and aviation environments. We serve our customers in the US Military, foreign militaries, police and fire departments worldwide, as well as international and domestic civilian helicopter operators & rescue agencies.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for hands-on troubleshooting and repair of production equipment. Additionally, this role will support daily production, process improvements, new product development, analyze and interpret technical data, create and sustain process materials (models, drawings, routers, etc.) and general facilities management.


This role is onsite at our manufacturing facility in Apollo Beach, FL. Hours are Mon-Thurs 7:30 am-5pm; Fridays 7:30 am - 11:30 am.


Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:


· Create, edit and revise 3D CAD models and assemblies using Alibre and SolidWorks Per Drafting Standards.

· Support production teams by providing engineering drawings and associated documentation.

· Provide technical expertise and support for manufacturing equipment, personnel, and processes.

· Support and assist with general facilities management.

· Implementation of preventive maintenance schedules to proactively ensure optimal equipment performance.

· Monitor production processes and identify improvement opportunities.

· Create and revise Operational Planning for component parts and assemblies per the Planning & Engineering Guidelines.

· Support and provide input to new product development input design, prototyping, and manufacturability.

· Process Engineering Change Requests for controlled documents per the Control of Documents Procedure and applicable change checklists.

· Create and edit Engineering Masters and Bills of Materials in the Business ERP System.

· Assist Operations detailed design tasks, supplier inquiry / quotation, qualification testing administration, technician tasks, etc., as assigned.

· Liaison with Production and Quality Assurance personnel by clarifying, marking up or revising controlled documentation.

· Prepare periodic FAA STC minor change matrices and revise Master Drawing Lists.

· Reports to Engineering Manager.


Requirements:


· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar (Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Etc.) degree.

· 3+ years of experience as a Manufacturing/Process/Mechanical Engineer preferred, but not required

· Strong technical/mechanical skills with hands-on experience with semi-automated production equipment.

· Proficiency with 3D CAD (Alibre/Inventor/Solidworks) programs and MS Office required.

· Proficiency with root-cause diagnosing and repair of manufacturing equipment.

· Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving methodologies.

· Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements.

· Product Data Management (PDM).


Highly Desirable Experience and Skills.

· Industrial Sewing Machine equipment and processes (Juki, Mitsubishi, Brother, etc.).

· Exposure to ISO 9001 / AS9100 quality management systems.

· Industrial Automated Manufacturing and Processes.

· Solid analytical and solution-driven skills.

· Demonstrated aptitude for process improvements and use of lean manufacturing practices.

· Textile manufacturing.

· Radio Frequency equipment and processes.


Please note that the upper-end of the posted pay range reflects the wage for a mid- to senior-level manufacturing engineer candidate.
