The Infant Teacher role is an integral part to the Teaching Team reporting to the School Director. We are looking for someone with a passion for working with infants with a clear focus on helping to grow and make the business successful.
Experience/Education
- Must meet requirements of local child-care regulatory agency and Childrens Lighthouse of Oak Forest
- At least two years work experience in a licensed child-care facility, kindergarten or early childhood program preferred.
- Experience in teaching infants.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations
- Implements Childrens Lighthouse policies, procedures and systems to ensure safe, healthy environment in compliance with state standards at all times.
- Represents Childrens Lighthouse to the community, parents, visitors and staff with professionalism and integrity.
- Consistently follows through with all duties and miscellaneous duties as assigned in competent and timely manner.
- Able to work flexible hours.
- Ability to communicate with, motivate others, analyze and solve problems, fostering a positive work environment.
- Knowledge of state and local standards.
- Knowledge of early child development and appropriate practices.
- Observes all rules and regulations at Childrens Lighthouse of Oak Forest and the local, state or national regulatory agencies pertaining to the health, safety and care of children.
- Assumes responsibility to manage lesson plan implementation and organization of the classroom.
- Knowledge of and adheres to employment laws and compliance issues related to those laws.
- Assists in keeping school physically well kept, attractive, and safe.
- Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior.
- Ability to perform all of the essential functions for each position in the School, including, but not limited to, other leadership team positions, teacher, food service teacher, and bus driver.
- Attends all required staff meetings, workshops and/or school functions.
- Assists in other capacities that Director, or designee, determines is necessary
