Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDalcom Engineering is seeking a part-time (approx. 15-25 hrs./week) Facilities Caretaker for their office in Galena, MD. This position will be responsible for the cleanliness of the office and the general upkeep of the surrounding grounds.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Groundskeeping
  • Mow, edge, and fertilize lawns.
  • Trim shrubs, bushes, and trees.
  • Rake, mulch, and prune the grounds as needed.
  • Plant flowers, trees, and shrubs.
  • Water plants and gardens.
  • Remove weeds and dead plants.
  • Maintain exterior of property, including pressure washing, window cleaning, and other duties as required.
  • Perform snow removal of driveway and sidewalks during winter months.
  • Operate tools including lawn mower, string trimmer, leaf blower, pressure washer, and others as required.
  • Perform general outdoor maintenance tasks as required.
  • Housekeeping
  • Clean workspaces, common areas, offices, hallways, and bathrooms.
  • Sweep, mop, and buff hardwood floors as needed.
  • Vacuum carpeted areas and furniture.
  • Dust and polish various surfaces.
  • Restock bathrooms with supplies.
  • Empty trash bins.
  • Perform other cleaning tasks as required.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in home cleaning and/or ground maintenance is preferred.
  • Ability to perform physical labor and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Flexibility to work various hours, including weekends if needed.
Although not a job requirement, Dalcom is particularly interested in job candidates that live in a HUBZone (Historically Underutilized Business Zone) qualified county or census tract.
