DUTIES:

Reports to the Executive Director and provides direct supervision to the Program Director and supporting agency staff via individual/group supervisory conferences, following program guidelines and funding source requirements. Responsible for all staff recruitment, supervision, and evaluation; overall development and implementation of the program design; administration of facilities and activities; implementation of DYCD, SYEP, and corporation policies; programmatic and monthly reporting; outreach and coordination of community collaboration.

 

  • Provides orientation and overview of the program to all program staff, liaising with the Executive Director.
  • Orients new hires to agency policies and specific job requirements and responsibilities.
  • Meets with the Executive Director to discuss policy implementation; provides ongoing status and programmatic reports.
  • Conducts planning meetings with the Program Coordinator and support staff to clarify problem areas and serve as a forum to address programmatic, logistical, and administrative concerns.
  • Conducts general staff meetings to report and discuss any problems, gain feedback /updates on relevant information regarding the program's status, assess for maximum compliance with all contracted mandates, and formulate any corrective action to be implemented.
  • Works with the Executive Director, the corporation’s Fiscal Officer, is responsible for the administration of program funds provided by the various funding sources, maintenance of all records as required for auditing purposes, and compliance with all department’s fiscal procedures in accordance with the department’s manual.
  • Attend monthly meetings with the Executive Director, liaise with sub-contractors to discuss any programmatic or security concerns, and update the oversight agencies on an ongoing basis of the program's status.
  • Responsible for generating purchases to fulfill the program needs; reviewing and approving the payroll; compiling and disbursing all checks to program staff, other service providers, vendors, and sub-contractors.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


  • Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) years experience in program planning, development, and administration.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work a flexible yet intense summer schedule.
  • Knowledge of SEL and PYD
  • Ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of East Flatbush, Flatbush, Crown Heights, Brownsville, and Canarsie.
