Tool Shop Technician

Reports to: Tooling Manager

Tasks

Job overview

The Tool Shop Technician is responsible for maintaining, cleaning, repairing and inspecting plastic injection molds. Documenting of all changes.

Responsibilities

•Assembling and disassembling of injection mold and stamping dies•Preventive maintenance and cleaning of injection molds•Troubleshooting of Plastic Injection Molds as and when needed•Performing Basic repairs•Mold inspection and replacement of standard components•Operating overhead crane•Operating manual machines is a plus (lathe, grinder, mill etc.)•Organization of work area•Reporting all repairs and maintenance tasks in the system•Following International Automotive Task Force quality standards – IATF 16949•Escalation of issues to manager•Team work – assisting others with daily tasks•Following Internal Quality Issues procedure – IQI•Ensuring safety rules and policies are followed•Housekeeping – 5S-Standard•Other duties assigned


Job Requirements

Education requirements

•Vocational or Certificate Training: desired•Minimum 3 years of work experience with injection molds in a high volume manufacturing environment is a must

Job requirements

•Good reading comprehension of work instructions•Good verbal and written communication skills•Good ability to work in a team environment•Good organizational skills •Detail oriented•Good technical skills•Basic knowledge of injection molding process - preferred•Good machining experience (turning, milling, grinding) •Basic ability to read blueprints•Basic understanding of metric system•Good knowledge of measurement devices •Basic computer skills•Attendance and punctuality

Physical requirements

•Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. other lifting assisted by crane•Pushing and Pulling up to 50 lbs. using material handling equipment•Constant standing, handling and using fingers•Frequent walking, bending, reaching outward and reaching above shoulders•Occasional squatting and kneeling
