Title: Telephone Triage (CMA/LPN)

Employment Type: Full Time

Work Hours: Monday through Friday, between 7:30 AM - 5:05 PM

City: Moline

State: Illinois

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for handling patient calls regarding medical and post-surgical questions and concerns
  • Communicating messages from patients to physicians and other providers
  • Receiving and analyzing INR reports and communicating results to providers
  • Responsible for processing refills on NSAID/Antibiotics per physicians' orders
  • Communicating with the patient to assess the urgency of the patient's concern/question
  • Utilizing the EMR to document patient calls
  • Serving as a resource to clinical staff regarding medical information and patient assessment
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with all HIPAA rules and regulations

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Current Medical Assistant Certification (CMA) or Illinois nurse license (LPN) is required
  • One year of prior phone triage experience is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with patients, families, and staff from diverse backgrounds
  • Knowledge of personal computer applications and Electronic Medical Record
