Opportunity Overview

SD Solutions is seeking a Federal Contractor Acquisitions Technical Writer to join our team supporting our new contract with the US. Census Bureau (USCB). NOTE: Applicants for this position must have 4+ years of experience in federal government acquisition and contracts management to be considered.

The USCB serves as the leading source of quality data about the nation's people and economy. This data shapes important policy and operational decisions that help improve the nation's social and economic conditions. For example, the USCB conducts the constitutionally mandated census of population and housing every 10 years which is used to apportion seats in the House of Representatives and informs congressional redistricting. The client office, the Decennial Contracts Execution Office, plays a critical role by providing secure, timely, and reliable contract services and solutions to enable the USCB mission. This position is currently remote but may be going to back to the office in Suitland, MD.

Responsibilities Include

  • Provides technical writing to assist in the development of drafting contract requirements.
  • Writes and/or edits technical documents, including business proposals, reports, user manuals, briefings and presentations, functional descriptions, system specifications, guidelines, special reports, and other project deliverables to meet contract requirements.
  • Develops outlines and drafts for review and approval by technical specialists and project management ensuring that final documents meet applicable Order requirements and regulations.
  • Researches and gathers technical and background information for inclusion in project documentation and deliverables.
  • Consults relevant information sources, including library resources, technical and financial documents, and client and project personnel, to obtain background information, and verify pertinent guidelines and regulations governing project deliverables.

Requirements Overview

The successful candidate will have:

  • MUST HAVE: 4+ years of experience in federal government acquisition, procurements and contracts management space
  • Solid experience with MS Office and SharePoint
  • Able to present high level presentations
  • Experience creating and use animations, graphics, and photographs to illustrate content in presentations
  • Able to manage the flow of information in group projects
  • Experience writing supporting content for services and products
  • Experience interfacing with clients
  • Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a USCB Suitability (Public Trust clearance)

Superstar Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field of study
  • Current, active USCB Public Trust suitability background investigation
