Trystar’s team members are our most important asset, who are passionate for Trystar, its culture, and a commitment to deliver on its growth, performance, and operational metrics. We are searching for a highly skilled Compliance Engineer, who will be responsible for ensuring adherence of Trystar’s legacy product , integrated systems, and custom solutions to all relevant electrical and mechanical standards and regulations, from initial design compliance to pre-certification tests to final certification. This position will be based in Burnsville, MN or Faribault, MN. This role aligns with the Engineering Function and reports directly to the MCS Leader .

- Interpret and apply engineering design, installation, and testing specifications outlined in relevant compliance standards to ensure product compliance and operational integrity.
- Contribute to new and on-going design efforts.
- Coordinate with outside testing labs for compliance updates and testing – including UL, ETL, and others.
- Develop and maintain product compliance policies and procedures.
- Conduct internal tests, studies, and regular audits to ensure compliance with applicable laws, electrical standards, and regulations.
- Manage multiple site and product inspections, as well as certifications.
- Institute best-practice procedures for compliance and risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to compliance.
- Provide compliance-based guidance and support to the Trystar teams.
- Manage technical issues relating to product design and manufacturing.
- Stay up to date with changes in electrical and mechanical standards and regulations.
- Prepare and present reports on the organization’s overall compliance status.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or a related field).
- Minimum of five (5) years of industrial experience in electrical compliance or a related field.
- 3 years of experience with product testing and process analysis.
- Travel: Up to 20% travel within the USA & Canada, as driven by business needs.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to establish scope of work, coordinate work, and interpret results from UL, ETL, and/or other nationally recognized testing laboratories (NRTLs).
- Ability to create documentation to support the change order process and enable self-servicing of information by product design engineers.
- Thorough understanding of regulatory frameworks; strong understanding of relevant electrical standards and regulations.
- Knowledge of UL standards, with focus on UL1008, UL891, UL508, UL1640, UL1650, and others.
- Knowledge of NFPA 70, 101, 99, and others.
- Proficiency in report writing, analysis, and compliance procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in testing of Seismically rated equipment.
- Experience in Medium Voltage standards.
- Ability to communicate with test engineers at high-power labs, NRTLs, and product design engineers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to organize and supervise multiple tasks simultaneously and independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and other relevant software.
- Skilled in business operations or project management.
- Experience in a research and new product development environment.
- Certification as a compliance professional is a plus.
