JOB PURPOSE:
As part of the E1 team, the Electric Journeyman will help to install electrical systems for high-end custom residential and commercial clients.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will report to the Electrical Manager and will serve as a critical member of the construction team. The Electrical Journeyman will be required to meet all current Federal and State requirements of a licensed electrical apprentice where applicable. The Electrical Journeyman ensures that projects are completed efficiently, and that projects are following expected profit and quality standards.
Specific job duties include:
- Perform regular duties, such as: bending, cutting, pulling & installing conduit & wire, troubleshooting, testing, trimming outlets, mounting equipment, and maintaining/servicing as needed for new and existing clients.
- Ensure systems meet company standards and are installed per all electrical and local building codes.
- Oversee and assist with the training of apprentices
- Regular use of hand and power tools appropriate for the job.
- Handle a variety of materials required for the job, including loading/unloading/moving.
- Adhere to safety procedures, policies, guidelines, and precautions while ensuring the job site remains tidy and free of safety hazards.
- Read and understand basic blueprints.
- Adapt to various types of construction/job site conditions.
- Perform any other project-related tasks that arise on a daily basis.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Journeyman Electrician License.
- Must have tools of the trade.
- Demonstrate the ability to identify electrical parts & components.
- Utilize a working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and the electrical industry.
- Possess a basic knowledge, and safe use, of tools and equipment.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and a driving record that complies with Energy 1 driving standards.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: communicate with others both physically present and on the telephone; sit and stand; move, use hands to operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move objects up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects over 50 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- The physical environment requires the employee to typically work in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain, snow. Additionally, the position may require the employee to perform work at various heights, up to 50' from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks or other safe work areas.
- This position will require travel to multiple sites on a regular basis as the need arises.
- This position is located in Bozeman, MT, with responsibilities for additional locations.
- This FLSA non-exempt position may be requested to work overtime and weekends on occasion.
