Event and Catering Sales Person

As a Catering salesperson, you will be responsible for generating revenue by selling catering services to potential clients and maintaining strong relationships with current clients. Your primary goal will be to meet and exceed sales targets while ensuring customer satisfaction and retention. This role requires excellent communication skills, a proactive approach to sales, and a keen understanding of the catering industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Generation:
- Actively seek out new sales opportunities through networking, cold calling, and attending industry events.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets.
- Present catering menus and services to potential clients.
- Follow up on leads and inquiries to convert prospects into customers.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by providing exceptional customer service and addressing their needs promptly and effectively.
- Regularly communicate with clients to understand their event requirements and preferences.
- Collaborate with clients to customize catering packages to suit their specific needs and budget.
- Anticipate client needs and proactively suggest solutions to enhance their experience.
- Event Coordination:
- Liaise with clients and internal teams to coordinate event logistics.
- Ensure all details of the catering contract are accurately documented and communicated to the operations team.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to familiarize yourself with event venues and address any logistical challenges.
- Market Research and Analysis:
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments.
- Analyze sales data and customer feedback to identify opportunities for business growth and improvement.
- Make recommendations for pricing adjustments, promotional campaigns, and product enhancements based on market insights.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in catering sales, hospitality sales, or a related field.
- Strong sales and negotiation skills, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Knowledge of food and beverage industry trends, menus, and culinary techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
