WHAT IS DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES RESOURCE CENTER (DDRC)
DDRC is a 501(c)3 Colorado nonprofit organization whose mission is serving children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and providing support to their families.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO AS A DEPUTY DIRECTOR
As a key member of DDRC's Executive Management Team, the Deputy Director plays a crucial role in providing supervision and leadership to various program areas designated by the Executive Director. This senior position involves overseeing and managing many of DDRC's Direct Services, including Medicaid waiver funded programs. Responsibilities encompass a wide range of duties including strategic planning, program development, budget oversight, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining high standards of health, safety, and quality. The Deputy Director also collaborates with the Executive Director on strategic initiatives, special projects, and serves on Board Committees.
This role is instrumental in driving the organization's mission forward and ensuring operational excellence in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN A DEPUTY DIRECTOR
Successful candidates for the Deputy Director position at DDRC should possess a master's degree in a related field such as Special Education, non-profit management, human services, public administration, or business. However, demonstrated senior level management experience may be considered in lieu of a master's degree. Key skills required for this role include multiple levels of progressive experience in leadership, program development, personnel management, and budget oversight. Proficiency in customer service, crisis intervention, and working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is essential. Candidates should also have a deep understanding of the Colorado IDD system, rules, and regulations, along with experience in policy development, staff training, and stakeholder management. Strong communication skills, computer literacy, and experience in delivering presentations are also crucial for success in this dynamic Executive position.
