Position Summary:

The Residential Supervisor will serve as the behavior management milieu lead in residential treatment, crisis respite, and emergency shelter service lines and is responsible for the supervision of care providers on shift through meaningful on-the-job teaching practices and documentation.


Schedule:

The Residential Supervisor will work from 9am to 9pm including weekends and holidays. They will be expected to work in coordination with the other Residential Supervisors as well as the resident case managers to provide continuous support of the program throughout the seven-day week in addition to joining the on-call rotation for the homes.

Requirements:

Education/Training/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, social work desired. Commensurate experience can be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Ideal 1 year experience in residential care facility; supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ideal 1 year experience working in school or inpatient setting working with young people with behaviors rooted in trauma.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Licensures/Certifications:

  • Must pass enhanced federal background check
  • Clearance with the National Sex Offender Registry

Salary and Benefits Commensurate with Skills and Experience to include:

  • Hourly staff; 3 FTE (120 hours monthly plus meetings)
  • Company holidays will pay time and a half
  • Full time staff receive health insurance premium paid by agency
  • Annual education reimbursement benefit at 6 months for full-time of $2,400 or $1,200 part time OR at 90 days, option of $200/month agency contribution to Dependent Care Account ($2,400 annual benefit)

  • Employee-paid vision insurance option; eligible at the first month start after start date
  • 403(b) with company match up to 3%; eligible at the first month start after start date

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directs the day-to-day staff of the program and implements programmatic and administrative policies and procedures to attain program goals and objectives.
  • Supervises the direct care provider staff on shift, documents employee performance, models performance improvement through coaching and teaching techniques, and makes recommendations for human resources actions to the Director of Residential Staffing.
  • Makes programmatic and administrative recommendations to the Director of Residential Therapy in accordance with the agency/program goals and objectives.
  • Coordinates critical incident debriefing and documentation in accordance with state and federal licensing requirements and under the supervision of Chief Operations Officer.
  • Responsible for onboarding training for new Care Provider staff.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Prioritizes resident care and leadership of shifts through meaningful on-the-job teaching and training of milieu management.
  • Implements programmatic and administrative policies and procedures to attain program goals and objectives.
  • Oversees quality assurance in the program’s service delivery including resident care and documentation.
  • Partners with Case Managers and Director of Residential Therapy to ensure the program’s productivity to meet established standards and to ensure continuity of care in the provision of comprehensive services.
  • Coordinates communication with other service components of the agency.
  • Adheres to the agency’s policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to the agency’s code of ethics and complies with the state mental health code.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience with crisis intervention, working with youth in crisis, and with individuals undergoing acute episodes of psychiatric distress.
  • Skills in supervising, evaluating, and disciplining staff of professionals and paraprofessionals.
  • Familiarity with community support systems, health care and human service resources, court and police activities, etc.
  • Good organizational skills and administrative abilities.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to adhere to a professional code of ethics.

Physical Demand Analysis:

General Physical Requirements

  • Medium work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Physical Activities

  • Climbing: Ascending or descending stairs, ramps, and the like using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
  • Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces. This factor is important if the amount and kind of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium.
  • Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
  • Kneeling: Bending legs at the knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
  • Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
  • Crawling: Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.
  • Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for medium distances or moving from one work site to another.
  • Pushing/Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force to draw, drag, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion.
  • Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.
  • Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken work. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
