Robot Welder

Position Overview

The purpose of this position is to use various robotic weld cells and other equipment to form and weld metal parts to internal or external customer specifications.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

· Works to supply products and services that meet or exceed the customers’ expectations. Follows the documented quality systems and processes to satisfy our customers’ needs.

· Reads and understands work instructions before performing work orders.

· Operates various robotic welders and other equipment to make parts to specifications of internal and external customers.

· Performs basic preventative maintenance on machines and fixtures being used.

· Handles and moves various materials from staging and stock locations to designated locations using a forklift, overhead crane, or other devices.

· Examine work pieces for defects to ensure conformance with specifications.

· Records daily production activity.

· Maintain a clean working environment free of debris and flammable materials.

· May assist supervisors or other departments in other duties or special projects as needed.

Critical Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

· Production and Processing: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

· Communicating with Supervisors and Peers: Providing information to supervisors or co-workers, in written form or in person.

· Mechanical: Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

· Mathematics: Knowledge of arithmetic and its application.

· Design: Blueprint reading.

· Handling and Moving Objects: Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating materials.

· Monitor Processes, Materials, or Surroundings: Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.

· Engineering and Technology: Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and

· production of various goods and services.

· Safety and Security; Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective safety for the protection of people and property.

· Controlling Machines and Processes: Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes.

· Tools: Personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, safety shoes clothing, etc.), wrenches, screw drivers, mallets, tape measure, calipers, micrometers, grinders, hand welder, forklift, overhead crane, etc.

Qualifications

· This particular position requires the individual to have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), previous related experience, or a combination of education and experience.

Preferences

· Previous experience with robotic welding equipment.

Supervisory Responsibilities

· This position has no supervisor responsibilities.

Working Environment and Conditions

· Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms, and be able to communicate verbally and in writing and take direction. The employee is frequently required to be in a stationary position. The individual will be performing physical activities that require considerable use of the arms and legs and movement of the whole body involving things such as lifting, balancing, moving, stooping, and handling of materials. The employee will regularly operate heavy machinery and use eye- hand coordination. The employee is frequently required to move and/or lift up to 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
