Position Overview

A strategic sourcing specialist improves the supply chain’s purchasing operations for the company. As a strategic sourcing specialist, your goal is to reduce costs and improve delivery time. A strategic sourcing specialist often works in alignment with the needs of the company’s project demands.

We are looking for a highly motivated sourcing specialist to assist the company in creating strong relationships with suppliers and maintaining the existing ones. The sourcing specialist’s responsibilities include sourcing goods, materials, and services at competitive prices and advising organizational team members on which suppliers to contract with. The job duties include working with suppliers and vendors to negotiate contracts and improving processes related to receiving services and parts needed for inventory. You should be able to maintain and update the supplier database and find alternative suppliers if the existing ones are unable to meet their obligations. This role will help Enchanted Rock meet its growth and supplier diversification needs now and in the future.

Where You Come In
  • Create and maintain assigned Category Plan for portion of our supply business.
  • Implement strategic sourcing strategies to achieve cost savings and improve supplier performance.
  • Collaborate with internal business units to understand business needs/requirements and develop sourcing plans accordingly to ensure that costs remain within budget.
  • Create and manage Request for Proposals (RFP).
  • Evaluate supplier performance against key metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational efficiencies.
  • Manage supplier relationships, including conducting regular performance reviews, resolving issues, and identifying opportunities for collaboration and innovation.
  • Identify gaps in service provider coverages and material suppliers; Proactively identify, engage, and select service providers/suppliers on national and local levels.
  • Initiate negotiation discussions for cost-effective and service-favorable contracts.
  • Requests all the regulatory and standard documents from vendors such as COI, Credit application, W-9, new vendor forms, NDA, Certifications, etc.
  • Champion new vendor setup process.
  • Collect/Create statements of work for potential contractors and product specifications for material supplies.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams and interact with internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Maintain strategic sourcing relationships and develop strong partnerships.
  • Review poor performing and incompliant suppliers/vendors to determine sourcing needs to provide variety in alternative sources.
Requirements:

What it Takes to Succeed
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-years’ experience in supply chain strategic sourcing and vendor management roles.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful sourcing strategies to achieve cost savings and improve supplier performance.
  • Experience in contract management and supplier relationship management.
  • Strong organizational skills, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with internal business units.
  • Exceptional critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Physical requirements and working conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.

  • Prior experience within strategic sourcing and supplier management.
  • Contract negotiation experience.
  • Contractor onboarding and performance management.
  • ISNet World experience.
