Position Overview:
As the Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager for Chemicals, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing category strategies for chemical sourcing across multiple locations. Your primary focus will be on optimizing the designated spend categories and enhancing supplier performance. Working closely with cross-functional teams, including sourcing, operations, R&D, technical, and finance, you will drive the selection and management of strategic suppliers, negotiate key contracts, and oversee supplier transitions to align with company goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead global category initiatives to achieve key performance indicators, including cost savings, supply assurance, risk management, and sustainability.
• Develop and implement 3 to 5-year global sourcing strategies for chemical categories, focusing on building partnerships with preferred suppliers that align with business needs and sustainability goals.
• Drive supplier negotiations, manage contracts, and implement cost models that support strategic sourcing and procurement excellence.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to prioritize sourcing projects, identify opportunities for value creation, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in the chemical sourcing domain.
• Engage in supplier relationship management to ensure performance, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with a specific focus on chemicals, reagents, or other related materials.
• Proven experience in managing chemical suppliers and negotiating complex agreements, including master service agreements and supply contracts.
• Strong background in cost modeling, supplier performance management, and risk mitigation in a regulated environment such as healthcare, life sciences, pharma, or biotech.
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and influence key stakeholders across multiple levels of an organization.
