The Hardscape Lead Hand operates under the guidance of the Foreman and undertakes a diverse range of responsibilities, including hand-on labor, to contribute to the successful execution of landscape construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hardscape and Softscape Construction: Lead the execution of hardscape and softscape landscape projects, encompassing the installation of paver patios, retaining walls, outdoor living spaces, water features, and landscape lighting.
- Planting: Expertly plant and nurture trees, shrubs, flowers, and bulbs to enhance the aesthetic appeal of outdoor spaces.
- Soil Management: Transport and distribute topsoil and other necessary materials to ensure proper soil composition. Conduct grading activities for optimal land leveling. Secure trees with appropriate staking techniques.
- Equipment Proficiency: Employ a diverse array of hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to accomplish project objectives efficiently and with precision.
- Safety Compliance: Conduct thorough daily inspections of tools and equipment to uphold safety standards. Always adhere strictly to personal protective equipment guidelines.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including job time tracking and material usage, to facilitate efficient project management and cost control.
- Regulatory Adherence: Ensure full compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and local health and safety laws throughout all project phases.
- Customer Interaction: Interact with clients in a courteous and professional manner, addressing their inquiries and concerns promptly to ensure a positive customer experience.
Requirements: - Minimum of 3 years of experience in landscape construction or a similar trade required.
- Must demonstrate the ability to adhere to safe working procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills required.
- Capable of working effectively in a team-oriented environment, taking direction from the foreman.
- Valid driver’s license required; Class A preferred.
- Ability to repetitively lift items weighing up to 80 lbs.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Flexible availability to work varied hours, including weekends when necessary.
- Proven track record of dependability and responsible conduct.
- Demonstrates strong ethics and integrity in all aspects of work.
- Must be able to be insured through our motor vehicle insurance agency.
