ABOUT US: Did you know that every nine minutes another person is added to the waiting list for life saving organs? One organ and tissue donor can save up to eight lives, restore sight in two people and enhance the lives of more than seventy-five people. Since 1976, MSTF has helped to facilitate the organ and tissue donation process between donor families and transplant recipients and promotes awareness through public and professional education. The Family Care Coordinator (FCC) is responsible for providing support to families of potential donors in a manner that is sensitive, respectful and informative. The Family Care Coordinator is directly responsible for facilitating a conversation in person with families by providing education regarding brain death and cardiac death, emotional support, obtaining authorization for donation and assisting with projects aimed at enhancing donation. The FCC will assist with Aftercare programs and projects that provide support to donor families.

WORKING HOURS: Provides “24 hour on-call services” 6-9 days per month to include one weekend per month; One additional Sunday as second call (7am – 7pm); One week (Monday – Friday) per month (3pm – 11pm). Service area is a 3 hour radius of Memphis, TN. Salary based on experience: $59k/yr to $73k/yr.

QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with bereavement support, trauma, palliative care and college degree in grief counseling or a minimum of 2 years experience interacting with grieving families. Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Experience using Electronic Medical records a plus.
