POSITION SCOPE
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Asphalt Paving Foreman to join our construction team. The Asphalt Paving Foreman will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing all aspects of paving operations on construction sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in paving techniques, materials, equipment operation, team leadership, and safety protocols. The Asphalt Paving Foreman will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and field staff to ensure the successful completion of paving projects within established timelines and quality standards.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Lead and manage paving crews, providing direction, guidance, and supervision to ensure efficient and safe operations.
- Plan and organize paving activities according to project specifications, ensuring compliance with design plans and engineering requirements.
- Operate paving equipment such as paving machines, screens, rollers, backhoes and skid steers as needed to complete paving tasks effectively.
- Collaborate with project managers, customers, and engineers to interpret and implement plans, ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment, identifying maintenance needs and coordinating repairs to minimize downtime.
- Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations, promoting a culture of safety awareness among the paving crew.
- Maintain accurate timecards and other records of daily operations, including equipment usage, production rates, and project progress.
- Coordinate the delivery and allocation of materials, equipment, and personnel to optimize workflow and productivity.
- Assist in training new crew members, promoting skill development and fostering a positive team environment.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and provide innovative solutions to overcome challenges that may arise during the paving processes.
- Monitor and manage project budgets, striving to achieve cost-effective solutions without compromising quality or safety.
Qualifications:
- Experience as an Asphalt Paving Foreman or a similar supervisory role in construction, with a solid understanding of paving techniques and equipment.
- Proficiency in operating paving equipment.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
- In-depth understanding of safety regulations and a track record of promoting a safe work environment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing conditions on-site.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work within project timelines.
- Ability to interpret technical information and communicate effectively with project stakeholders.
- Familiarity with construction software, tools, and equipment maintenance.
