The City of Katy is accepting applications and resumes for the position of Part-Time Museum/Depot Clerk.

SUMMARY: The John Nelson Katy Heritage Museum displays vintage farming equipment and artifacts from Katy's agricultural pioneering history, along with scores of old photographs and fascinating antiques. The historic Missouri-Kansas-Texas Depot, has been restored to serve as a Visitors Center and Railroad Museum. It is a central location for tourists and visitors to obtain information, brochures and maps for the City of Katy and Katy businesses. The Museum/Depot Clerk will be responsible for delivering the museum's and depot's visitor services program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Provide tours for the visiting public
  • Compile daily statistics
  • Other visitor services, as required.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Interest in working with the public
  • Good customer service skills
  • Strong oral communication skills
  • Interest in history a plus

SCHEDULE: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Thursday through Saturday and 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM on Sunday; rotating schedule and facility location with other clerks
