Position Summary: Under limited Supervision perform extensive marketing efforts to develop and improve dealer relations. Position requires the use of judgment and discretion in making credit decisions for existing and new members seeking auto loans. Make effective ongoing marketing calls on dealerships to encourage them to send applications to Westmark, and continual monitoring and nurturing of relationships with Westmark partner dealerships. This position requires extensive marketing skills, strong interpersonal communication skills and an assertive personality.



Essential Functions and Basic Duties:

  • Perform regular and ongoing marketing calls to Dealerships as assigned by VP/DLC Manager
  • Travel extensively to visit with dealerships in SE Idaho region or other regions when needed
  • Support marketing plans and promotions and communicate them to Dealerships
  • Review Loan Applications and credit reports in Dealer Lending Software LPQ
  • Approve loans within established lending guidelines and authority
  • Communicate loan decisions to dealerships through LPQ software, e-mail, or telephone in a timely and professional manner.
  • Complete all loan documentation and funding in an accurate and timely manner
  • Perform any and all duties as assigned by the DLC Manager

Performance Measurements:

  • Is a strong self-starter and is able to work independently at a remote location
  • Is able to interact with dealership employees, members, and co-workers professionally and with integrity
  • Shows a positive, enthusiastic attitude
  • Ability to accept constructive criticism, guidance, and direction from DLC Manager, other managers and Dealership employees
  • Maintains a reliable attendance record and takes responsibility for their own actions
  • Represents Westmark, both during and after work hours, in a courteous, professional manner


Requirements:


Required Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Lending experience at Westmark or other institutions and/or ability to quickly learn Westmark’s lending policies and procedures; credit underwriting standards and credit grading
  • Extensive marketing skills
  • Good driving skills and comfortable driving company vehicles extensively in all weather conditions
  • General knowledge of Westmark’s loan and share products and all services
  • Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal relationship skills
  • Mathematical skills commensurate with lending needs

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of the FSO training program with 12 or more months experience in lending at Westmark; OR other loan officer/lending training with one or more years of direct or indirect lending experience at another financial institution; OR experience working at or with auto dealerships; OR a combination of relevant credit union and lending background or experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or a financially related field preferable; OR a high school diploma PLUS a minimum of three years of relevant marketing experience, preferably involving banking or dealerships; OR a combination of formal education, training and applicable experience
