Starting Pay Range: $55-65K; pay is based on experience.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support our General and Cost Accounting departments. In this role, you will assist the accounting team with various tasks, with a primary focus on cost accounting. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their accounting skills while contributing to the success of a leading manufacturing company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare support and documentation for journal entries and monthly closings.
- Review accounts payable vouchers and correct any discrepancies in account and standard cost data.
- Assist in preparing standard cost requests and budgets.
- Perform general ledger account reconciliations, including inventory and bank reconciliations.
- Provide backup support for cost accounting, including cycle counts and procurement card processes.
- Assist with the preparation of audit work papers and other accounting documentation.
- Support the team with data entry and administrative tasks as needed.
- Lead small process improvement projects within the accounting department.
Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Business or five years of related accounting experience.
- Experience with PeopleSoft Business Objects and manufacturing systems is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Access.
- Demonstrated reliability, teamwork, and initiative in previous roles.
