Position Title: Drop/Count Team Supervisor
Department: Finance - Drop/Count
Employment Classification: Non-Exempt
Position Summary/General Description:
A Drop/Count Supervisor is responsible for over-seeing the completion of the drop verification, bill validator reports, making sure team members follow set procedures, and internal controls.
Expectations:

- Maintain a positive and respectful attitude toward customers and co-workers.
- Consistently reports to work on time prepared to perform duties of position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Thorough working knowledge of the entire drop/count process in large-scale operations.
- Supervise and participate in the daily drop/count process to ensure the team members following the set procedures and internal controls that include but not limited to: replacing of bill validators in each slot machine, obtaining and opening of bill validators from carts or trollies, emptying contents of each bill validators, and verify and sort large amounts of money/chips.
- Oversee the completion of the drop verification and bill validator reports, counts processed and maintain accurate records, and all counts processed and maintain accurate records
- Exercise strong motivational commitment to the organization, speak accurately and clearly to co-workers, and read and respond to common inquiries and complaints from internal and external customers as well as team members.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all external and internal customers and patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner at all times. Maintains a professional work environment with team members.
- Ensure all staff is trained on specific count room related equipment, monitoring and directing drop/count activities and assigning job duties to drop/count team members.
- Enforce drop/count dress code to stay in compliance with TGRA regulations that require wearing an outer garment; a one piece pocket-less jumpsuit when present in the count room during the counting process.
- Adhere to all administrative policies (LDC Policy & Procedure Manual and departmental procedures), safety rules and health regulations, and Pueblo of Laguna Gaming Control Board/Tribal Gaming Regulatory Authority rules and regulations.
- Maintain a flexible schedule to attend and participate for occasional meetings.
- Communicate on a daily basis with the main cage for call-ins.
- Require to sign in and out the keys for the drop and count process.
- Ensure that surveillance is notified prior to a drop/count team member entering or leaving the count room and when the count is complete.
- At all times check equipment prior to the count commencing to ascertain that all information from the previous day has been properly cleared out and no bills remaining in the counters.
- Ensure that test counts are completed and supplies are in the count room prior to the start of the count.
- Complete the attendance sheets on a daily basis and assign breaks based on the volume of work being processed.
- Responsible for ensuring that drop/count team members signed all necessary reports attesting to the accuracy of the report, replacing the trolleys in the proper order, machines blown out, and supplies replenished for the next day.
- Ensure all count paper work is delivered to the accounting department at the completion of the count.
- Make sure the machinery is in good working order and report all major repairs to the service technician immediately.
- Oversee all counts processed and maintain accurate records.
- Actively participate in Supervisory Development Leadership Series (SDLS) yearly.
- Build relationships and loyalty with guests through sincere and meaningful interactions (e.g., learn guests’ names and preferences; connect with them individually and professionally; smile; make eye contact and verbally greet guests from arrival to the property through departure; and provide fast and friendly service to guests).
- Be a team player (e.g., work toward team goals and foster a collaborative and positive work environment; put the team first; assist coworkers; treat all coworkers with kindness, courtesy and respect; never engage in negativity; maintain openness to coaching, learning and improving; receptive to change and willingness to embrace challenges with team-spirit).
- Develop a thorough knowledge of services, room locations, amenities, surroundings (e.g., gift shop, restaurants, theater, etc.), providing accurate directions, and information for guest inquiries about promotions and special events.
- At all times maintain a courteous, positive and professional working relationship with all LDC personnel and the general public (e.g., coworkers, clients and vendors).
- Work under pressure; maintain regular and punctual attendance including working odd and unusual hours, weekends and holidays.
- Hires, disciplines, and fires employees (according to LDC guidelines).
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED Certification preferred.
- 0-1 year relevant experience and demonstrated ability to lead.
- Must have two (2) years of experience in demonstrating supervisory abilities.
- Must have work experience in drop/count capacity.
Licensing & Certification:
- None.
Computer Equipment, Software, Machinery:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.),
- Experience with Kronos (Timekeeper Software), and Paramount (Purchasing Software).
- Experience with operating counting equipment such as: money sorters, counters, and ten 10 key calculator.
Essential Physical Requirements:
- The job requires the ability to bend over, crawl, crouch/stoop, hear, kneel, reach overhead, stand, talk, turn/twist, walk, see and repetitively use hands 51-100% of the time and the ability to balance/climb 25-50% of the time.
- The job requires the ability to push/pull 1-50+ lbs. and carry, lift, slide/transfer 1-25 lbs. 51-100% of the time.
- The job requires the ability to carry, lift, slide/transfer 25-50 lbs. 25-50% of the time.
Essential Mental Demands:
- Requires the ability to solve problems, organize, plan, make decisions, interpret data, read and write the majority of the time.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Hire, fire, train, discipline, schedule, apportion work among employees, appraise productivity, and measure performance.
Work Environment (inside/outside):
- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
- The job is performed indoors in a Casino environment with frequent exposure smoke (e.g., cigarette smoke).
Other Requirements:
- Must pass a pre-employment alcohol/drug screening.
- Obtain and maintain a gaming license through the Pueblo of Laguna’s Gaming Control Board and must provide/maintain a valid New Mexico drivers’ license.
- Must comply with LDC and the Federal Government Bank Secrecy Act by acquiring and/or maintaining a Title 31 Certification.
