Join our team We have an exciting opening for a full-time Associate Business Analyst to join our innovative Service Delivery team in Madison, Wisconsin


The Associate Business Analyst is focused on providing level one business analysis services for a maximum of 2-3 small projects and with support from higher level Business Analysts.  Providing project support to internal teams, this role will collaborate closely with the project technical teams, project sponsors, and project managers.  The Associate Business Analyst will work directly with clients to identify technical needs and work to manage communication around future state and progress, servicing as the voice of Yahara.  The Associate Business Analyst will report directly to the Business Analysis Practice Manager.


The ideal candidate possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, adept interpersonal abilities to engage and build rapport with clients, and ideally, a background in BioHealth (Biology, biomedical engineering, laboratory systems, etc.). This role plays a part in advancing project initiatives, steering product development, and facilitating product adoption as per the established roadmap.



Responsibilities

  • Analyze complex business problems and propose automated system solutions.
  • Advise internal and client teams on best practices, particularly in the BioHealth vertical.
  • Formulate stakeholders' objectives into recommended solutions.
  • Research client market advantages/disadvantages and external pressures for solution design.
  • Conduct requirements-gathering sessions with multiple stakeholders.
  • Organize and prioritize requirements into 'mandatory' and 'desired' categories.
  • Convert requirements into development stories for estimation and testing.
  • Track requirement delivery from creation to client sign-off.
  • Utilize rapid prototyping tools (e.g., JustinMind, Sketch, Zephyr) for application usability.
  • Consult with technical teams to manage architectural dependencies.
  • Work with the technical lead to document dependencies as tasks and execute these prerequisites prior to dependent stories.
  • Assist in creating client-facing deliverables like product roadmaps and ROI metrics.
  • Collaborate with client product owners and project managers for product delivery.
  • Identify and escalate project risks to project managers.
  • Engage client stakeholders in development processes (e.g., sprint planning, demos).
  • Stay current with industry and vertical best practices (e.g., IIBA standards) for software development.
  • Act as liaison between Yahara and clients for testing feedback and bug prioritization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, or in Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, and related fields; may be substituted with Associates degree plus two years relevant experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience as an advanced Project Coordinator with familiarity of Business Analysis practices
  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Exposure to concepts related to user interface or user experience and the software development lifecycle.
  • Subject matter knowledge and/or experience in the BioHealth domain (biology, biomedical engineering, laboratory systems, etc.).
  • Understanding of Agile methodology.
  • Interest in exploring how IT systems, processes or technology can improve user experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally, as well as through written word and formal presentations.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, collaborative, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience using computers for a variety of tasks including competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated high degree of initiative and ownership; proactively works to resolve issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and create lasting relationships. Must have experience working on a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to escalate and work through roadblocks.
  • Able to learn new technology well enough to communicate with technology experts.
