Chef Manager

Salary: $65k a year

Hours: Monday to Friday (Start time between 6-7am until around 3:00pm. Some evening availability is needed).

Location: Libertyville, IL

Job Summary

As our Food For Thought Chef Manager, you will stay ahead of industry trends and bring creative inspiration to the café by utilizing outside resources such as social media and industry publications.

You will lead and manage both the Front of the House and Back of the House teams, ensuring continuous client and customer satisfaction, as well as employee retention. You will work on developing career paths including training schedules and timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Measuring customer satisfaction levels through feedback and resolving any issues immediately.

• Working with the General Manager to maintain 100% compliance with the new menu and promo rollouts from chef’s committee.

• Acting as the liaison with the client to ensure expectations are met.

• Managing and maintaining all SOP and HACCP standards.

• Demonstrating financial expertise and accountability in managing Food, Labor and Direct costs against budgets and forecasts.

• Manage all kitchen and culinary operations.

• Other duties as required or assigned.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years in Food Service Management.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong communication and leadership skills.

• Proficient computer skills and exceptional organizational skills.

• Must provide valid Food Service Manager Certificate and Food Allergen Certification.

• A passion for culinary arts, with a desire for creativity.

The employee will occasionally be required to lift and carry items of 40+ pounds for a moderate distance. The employee is required to use their hands to handle tools, grasp, and control objects. Use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble items.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously exposed to extreme temperatures. Working with knives, mincers, and other dangerous tools or equipment.
