Celebrations Speech Group is looking for a dedicated in-person School Psychologist to join our team for a school-based assignment in Oakland or Richmond, CA. As a School Psychologist, you'll play a crucial role in helping students develop academic success & personal wellbeing by assessing, consulting, and providing services to students with vital needs to reach their full potential.

Celebrations Speech Group is a private practice and Non-Public Agency with decades of experience providing quality special education and therapy services in schools, homes, and in-clinic. What makes us dynamic is our supportive, vibrant, and collaborative environment where we give you the tools you need to succeed and be able to develop leadership and clinical skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational assessments in accordance with California Department of Education and Federal guidelines to determine the complex needs of individuals with suspected academic challenges.
  • Certify pupils eligibility for placement in special education services, programs or classes in accordance with their individual physical, mental and emotional needs.
  • Prepare comprehensive, legally defensible written reports of assessment findings with diagnoses and specific recommendations in accordance with State and Federal guidelines.
  • Provide training and ongoing support to clients, families, and educational teams on the use of behavior strategies.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to each student's goals.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings, following due process timelines.
  • Provide counseling services to students as needed.
  • Provide consultative support to administrators, parents, students, school-based personnel and CSG staff on matters pertaining to special education procedures and guidelines, mental health issues, child development, student behavior, learning problems, and relevant intervention strategies and recommendations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  • Current, active Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credential valid in the state of CA issued by the California CTC.
  • At least 2 years of school-based experience implementing Psychological supports or work with supervising programs for students with Autism and related disabilities
  • Experience training school staff and parents
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong speaking, writing, and listening skills and the ability to work as a collaborative and supportive team member
  • Ability to build rapport with staff.
  • Positive and collaborative demeanor.
