The Insurance & Patient Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth patient experience by verifying insurance coverage and benefits, collecting co-payments and deductibles, managing Chronic Care Management enrollment, confirming appointments, conducting patient satisfaction surveys, and documenting interactions. This role requires strong communication and customer service skills to work closely with patients, insurance providers, and medical staff.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and update records accordingly.
  • Obtain referrals and or authorizations.
  • Communicate with insurance companies to obtain benefit information.
  • Assist patients with insurance-related inquiries and explain coverage details.
  • Confirm appointments, collect co-pays, deductibles, self pay fees, and conduct patient satisfaction surveys.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Provide support to billing and administrative staff as necessary.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of experience in insurance verification or a related field.
  • Knowledge of insurance principles and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MA/RMA/CMA Certified Preferred not Required.
Job Requirements:
  • Prior experience working in insurance verification, billing, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance policies.
  • Must have a strong internet connection.


Position Details:
  • Hourly Rate: TBD
  • Full-time Position: Must be able to work 8am-5pm EST, Monday to Friday.
  • Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, PTO, and 401K (after 1 year with company match).
