What's Expected

Operate Equipment



· Responsible for efficient operation of production equipment and machinery (Triangle, Avatar, and Box Machine).

· Well versed in all aspects of machine operations, including normal operations, changeover and trouble shooting.

· Perform mechanical troubleshooting and makes adjustments and repairs on machinery as authorized.

· Assist with preventative maintenance requirements and ensure minimal downtime operating machinery to capacity.

· Safely produce finished products that meet customer specifications.

Packing/Inspecting



· Thoroughly inspect all finished goods and materials to ensure product consistency.

· Seals on product need to be clear.

· Immediately bring any issues to supervisor's attention.

· Inspect product and packaging carefully to confirm that the packaged product meets all quality standards.

· Observe all products, materials and equipment critically in order to ensure product quality and consistency.

Production

· Does not modify recipes.

· Follow safe food handling practices.

· Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.

· Follow cleaning and sanitation standards and procedures.

· Follow the handling standards of raw and processed foods.

Quality



· Detect irregularities in packaging materials, machinery or finished products.

· Ensure all quality standards have been met including correct weight, is properly sealed, contains the required lot number and is free from defects.

Safety



· Assist in maintaining a safe environment by taking actions to correct small hazards and by notifying management of hazards that require the attention of management.

· Adhere to standard operating procedure when performing tasks.

Routine Tasks



· Setting of lot numbers accurately.

· Secure and assemble flat boxes into cases.

· Monitor to confirm metal detectors, metal collectors and other machinery are functioning properly.



Food Safety & Quality/Legal Requirements

· Comply with all food safety, quality, and legal requirements written in each SOP pertaining to job duties.

· Report any infractions of food safety, quality, or legality to supervisor.

· Follow personal hygiene practices as documented.


OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:


  • Understand batching and lot tracking
  • Participate in team meetings and make recommendations to increase productivity.
  • Participate in continuing education classes and monthly training courses.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:


High School diploma or equivalent required


EXPERIENCE:


At least three (3) years of machine operating, machine set up, and troubleshooting experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:


Normal office conditions apply. Employee must have clear, close vision for reading and computer work. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, balance, stoop, grasp, talk, hear and operate computer keyboard. Job may require reaching at shoulder level and below waist. Will occasionally lift/push/pull up to 60 pounds and carry objects.
