Job Description

Norco is currently seeking an individual to fill our Staff Accountant position. The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing accounting duties as assigned as well as working closely with the Accounts Payable and Cash Applications teams. Problem solving includes variance research, analysis, and resolution. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in updating monthly financial reports
  • Review and file monthly and quarterly Sales, Use, and B&O Tax Returns
  • Assist with month-end close, prepare and post adjusting journal entries
  • Prepare account reconciliations as assigned
  • Perform various monthly audits
  • Assist Accounts Payable Specialists with coding questions
  • Perform or supervise specialized processes using software unique to our ERP system such as but not limited to fixed assets, credit card processing, and electronic billings to customers
  • Prepare and analyze ad hoc reports for multiple areas of the business
  • Analyze existing procedures and processes and make recommendations for improvements
  • Perform other tasks as assigned or needed
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 1+ years of accounting experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Knowledge of proper internal controls and internal audit procedures
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook)
  • Working knowledge of PowerBI or Tableau preferred
  • Ability to keep sensitive information confidential
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Adaptability to frequent changes in priorities, fast pace of work
