JOB SUMMARY:

Maintain a safe and clean environment by cleaning all areas of the facility continuously to promote safety, hygiene, and good housekeeping.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

****Daily responsibilities may be changed based on staffing, absenteeism, and current production schedules. Reassignment of the daily responsibilities will be from the direction of the Supervisor on duty at that time. ****

  1. Responsible for all trash in office areas, restrooms, lunchrooms and break areas on a daily basis.
  2. Cleans locker rooms, lunchrooms and break areas on a daily basis including sweeping, mopping and wiping / disinfecting.
  3. Cleans offices thoroughly on a weekly basis, including dusting, sweeping and special requests.
  4. Walks through all areas at least twice per shift for any additional cleaning needed.
  5. Washes respirators daily and changes filters – as needed.
  6. Responsible for shoveling walks and applying salt in winter.
  7. Runs floor scrubber as directed and performs scheduled scrubbing under racks after supervisor has forklift operator remove stored items.
  8. Responsible for all plant ductwork and overhead equipment cleaning.
  9. Cleans overhead duct on a scheduled cleaning program.
  10. Wipe down plant production equipment when it is feasible due to production demands.
  11. Sweeping of curing ovens whenever asked to do so.
  12. Empties cardboard carts and bales cardboard in baler.
  13. Is responsible for:
  • Understanding and following policies, procedures and instructions
  • Identifying and reporting product, process and quality system non-conformities to lead personnel
  • Controlling nonconforming products
  • Supporting implementation of corrective/preventive and improvement actions
  1. Be familiar and compliant with the systems, procedures and documentation of the Crown Quality System and how it relates to this position and Crown quality objectives.
  2. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor

ACCOUNTABILITY: The Janitor/Floor Scrubber reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.

COMPETENCIES:

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Safety Training
  • Aerial lift
  • Fall protection
  • LOTO

DESIRED TRAITS: Ability to work independently on a time schedule. Ability to use aerial (man) lifts. Ability to work at heights of 15’ or more. Able to lift 50lbs. occasionally. Good problem solving skills. Moderate exertion used in vacuuming and manual cleaning. Light lifting of trashcans and vacuum cleaners. Frequent climbing of stairs. Continuous walking, standing, reaching and stretching. Ability to work in temperature extremes. Ability to obtain and maintain forklift license. Attendance should be kept at 4 points or less.
