Junior IT Technician

W&B Service Company has an excellent opportunity for a Junior IT Support Technician at its headquarters office in Dallas, Texas.

We have 20 facilities throughout the Southwest, including Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana. We are a growing full-service dealership of refrigeration systems and new over-the-road cargo trailers. We have achieved the designation as the largest transport refrigeration dealer of Carrier Transicold, a world leader in Truck, Trailer, and rail refrigeration systems.

This person will be responsible for support of the Company’s PCs, printers, phone systems, and related equipment. Tasks include end-user support, and performing PC maintenance, upgrades, and configurations.

Essential Duties:

• Respond to support calls, emails, texts, and walk-ups.
• Resolve 1st level issues involving PCs, laptops, printers, cell phones, wireless, networking, software, etc..
• Install, test, and configure new hardware and software - workstations, phones, cellphones, peripheral equipment and software
• Perform timely workstation hardware and software upgrades as required
• Maintain documentation of IT inventory—computer systems, cell phones, etc.
• Decommission and recycle equipment using vendors as needed
• Participate in team meetings and provide input on solutions to improve efficiency
• Act as a resource on projects
• Ensure adherence to departmental and/or operations policies, procedures and practices
• Travel to remote branch locations for IT support work as needed
• Assume other duties and responsibilities required or assigned by management

Education/Experience and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; formal IT training or certification a plus
• Some experience in IT support or a related field preferred, but not required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products
• Extended experience with Windows
• Experience with Microsoft 365
• Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN and WAN networking, etc..
• Experience working with remote employees
• Ability to organize and prioritize work
• Eagerness to learn and grow in the IT field
• Must have a clean driving record and vehicle
