Job DescriptionJob Description

RD Nutrition Consultants is seeking a Full-Time Dietetic Technician, Registered for 40hr per week.

Compensation $25.00-$31.00 per hour

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, rotating weekends.


Contract Length: 13-weeks with the opportunity for extension

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with registered dietitians (RDs) to assess patients' nutritional needs.
  • Collect patient data, including medical history, dietary habits, and food preferences.
  • Assist RDs in developing and implementing individualized nutrition plans.
  • Provide nutrition education to patients and their families on topics such as healthy eating, disease management, and weight loss.
  • Monitor patients' food intake and weight to ensure they are meeting their nutritional goals.
  • Document all patient interactions and progress notes in the electronic medical record.
  • May participate in menu planning, food service operations, and ensuring adherence to dietary guidelines (depending on the department).
  • Stay up-to-date on current nutrition research and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Registered Dietetic Technician (DTR) credential from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (Academy)
  • Associate's degree in Dietetic Technician or a related field (preferred)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of nutrition principles and medical terminology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in computer skills, including electronic medical records (EMR) software
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach
