Medical Receptionist

Monday – Friday 8-5

Position Summary:

We are seeking a personable and organized Front Desk Representative to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience. This role involves managing front desk operations, scheduling appointments, handling patient inquiries, and maintaining accurate records. The Front Desk Representative plays a crucial role in the smooth operation of our clinic, contributing to the overall patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Interaction:

  • Greet and check-in patients with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and address patient inquiries promptly.
  • Provide patients with information about clinic services, procedures, and policies.

Appointment Management:

  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring optimal use of clinic resources.
  • Coordinate appointment changes and cancellations, updating the schedule as needed.
  • Send appointment reminders and follow-ups to patients.

Administrative Tasks:

  • Manage patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Process patient registrations, insurance verifications, and co-payments.
  • Maintain a clean and organized front desk and waiting area.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with medical staff to ensure seamless patient flow and communication.
  • Assist with administrative tasks as needed, supporting the overall clinic operations.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Additional education or certification in healthcare administration or related field is a plus.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a front desk or administrative role, preferably in a medical setting.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and medical terminology is advantageous.

* Interview patients to complete documents, case histories, or forms, such as intake or insurance forms.
* Receive and route messages or documents, such as laboratory results, to appropriate staff.
