The National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) is the U.S. Government agency in charge of designing, building, launching, and maintaining America’s intelligence satellites.

Apogee's ideal GEOINT Systems Engineer will provide Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) services to an IC customer.  The customer organization provides the enterprise architecting, analysis, and systems engineering solutions that determine the current and future national space systems. This customer is responsible for designing, building, and operating national security-related systems based in space, in the air, and on the ground. What You'll Do


  • System Engineer Technical Advisor (SETA) responsible for requirements development and tracing analysis, ensuring technical integrity in system engineering deliverables
  • Facilitate technical meetings between customers, SETA's, and contractors to solve closure gaps
  • Work with modern development COTS and tools to facilitate collaboration, work load management, and configuration management
  • Eagerness to learn and become Subject Matter Expert (SME) on various radar aspects, such as ground systems and space systems


Required


  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technical, Engineering, Math) or related discipline with up to 14 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree in STEM with up to 12 years of relevant experience; or PhD and up to 9 years of experience 
  • Experience in requirements development and definition activities to include stakeholder engagement and customer needs elicitation
  • Experience in core systems engineering and analysis disciplines and processes
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and energetic environment
  • Good communication skills to help facilitate good team work life environment


Desired


  • Advanced degree in STEM (Science, Technical, Engineering, Math) or related discipline
  • Experience in GEOINT phenomenology's in concept, properties and application to satisfy needs, and to inform future capability procurements
  • Prior experience with exploitation, analysis, tools, and methods of various airborne or spaceborne collection assets
  • Innovative, strong work ethic, able to think critically, and able to take initiative and work both independently and within a team
  • Prior US military and/or IC customer experience
