Collaborating closely with executive leadership, interdisciplinary teams, and external partners, the Senior Health Informatics Specialist leads the development and execution of informatics strategies to optimize patient care, operational efficiency, and organizational effectiveness. Located at our Los Angeles facility, this senior-level position upholds Clinica Monsenor Oscar Romero's mission and core values while advancing the frontier of healthcare informatics.


Responsibilities:


  1. Strategic Data Analysis:
    • Lead sophisticated data analyses to extract actionable insights, guiding strategic decision-making and enhancing healthcare outcomes.
    • Employ advanced statistical techniques to uncover meticulous patterns critical for informed decision-making in complex healthcare environments. Facilitate seamless collaboration among healthcare professionals, IT teams, and stakeholders to elicit nuanced data requirements.
    • Develop an enhanced system of database collections and analytics.
    • Drive a holistic understanding of data needs by bridging the gap between technical intricacies and operational nuances.
  2. HIPAA Governance:
  • Serve as the steward of HIPAA compliance, ensuring rigorous adherence to regulations throughout the data lifecycle.
  • Proactively shape policies and procedures to align with evolving healthcare regulations and uphold the highest standards of data security and privacy.
  1. Clinical Expertise:
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of medical concepts, terminologies, and healthcare workflows.
  • Translate complex clinical requirements into precise technical specifications for effective data representation and analysis.
  1. Personalized Reporting Solutions:
  • Conceptualize and implement tailored reporting solutions to meet the diverse needs of healthcare departments, fostering data-driven insights and decision-making.
  • Provide ongoing refinement and optimization of reporting mechanisms to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
  1. Seamless System Integration:
  • Lead efforts to seamlessly integrate healthcare informatics solutions with existing systems, including electronic health records (EHR) and other data repositories, in collaboration with IT teams.
  • Provide expert support for EPIC systems, ensuring seamless integration and maximizing the utilization of electronic medical records.
  1. Knowledge Dissemination:
  • Deliver advanced training sessions and educational programs to enhance staff proficiency in healthcare informatics tools and methodologies, including EPIC support and Tableau analytics.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Computer Science, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in healthcare informatics, data analysis, or related field, with demonstrated leadership and strategic planning capabilities.
  • Expertise in statistical analysis software (e.g., SAS, R, Python) and healthcare informatics tools, including Tableau.
  • In-depth understanding of HIPAA regulations and healthcare data security standards.
  • Experience providing expert support for EPIC systems is required.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
