Job Description

The Billing Representative is a detail-oriented, reliable staff member that’s main focus is billing claims to the insurance companies under the supervision of the Billing Manager. The Billing Associates will also be tasked with updating accounting records with issued invoices, new payments, and client information.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists in managing financial data to resolve outstanding invoices
  • Verifying insurance
  • Submits encounters/ claims to insurances companies for reimbursement
  • Assist clients with copays, deductibles, and coinsurances
  • Enters all relevant data into EHR software
  • Utilize electronic, standard, and certified mail services to deliver invoices and correspondence
  • Process payment through various channels
  • Issue reminder and final notice statements to dilatory and delinquent
  • Record and update all payments in EHR software
  • Follow-up on missed payments and resolve financial discrepancies
  • Examine patient bills for accuracy and request any missing information
  • Investigate and appeal denied claims
Requirements:

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent computation ability
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize assignments
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in Mental Health Medical Billing, preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Understanding of general accounting principles
