Required Skills:

  • Baseline requirements (all candidates):

  • Minimum 8 years experience onsite in Tustin, CA.

  • Minimum 10 years experience for remote candidates.

  • Strong COMPOSITES experience & knowledge required.

  • Preference given to those candidates with HYPERSIZER/HYPERX experience, but not required.

  • Must have composite primary airframe (fuselage, empennage, wing) experience.

  • Must have FEMAP experience.

  • Stress analysis of actuators and sizing of actuators.

  • Vehicle level test experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution, with a concentration in a relevant Engineering discipline

  • Minimum 8 years or more of applicable experience in the analysis of structural systems using strength of materials and finite element-based methods

  • Experience in aircraft or spacecraft composite fabrication, design, and analysis processes

  • Knowledge of composites manufacturing and sizing of composite structures using FEA models, including pre and post processing of NASTRAN models and associated sizing of composite structures.

  • Proficiency in FEMAP.

  • Stress analysis of actuators and sizing of actuators.

  • Vehicle level test experience.
  • Experience with free-body diagrams and classical stress analysis techniques. Hand calc exp. Hypersisor/Hyperx exp.

  • Hands-on experience with composites part fabrication and assembly processes a plus.

  • Pilot, aircraft homebuilding and rapid prototyping experience a strong plus.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent computer skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Experience with the design of flight vehicles or vehicle systems to a set of requirements or standards such as CFR 14, Part 400, Part 23 and 25, military or NASA are highly desired
