Job Title: Practice Manager/Administrative Manager

Department: Administration

Immediate Supervisor Title: Chief Executive Officer

Job Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises staff and oversees the management of all clinic activities and staff.

General Summary: Responsible for providing administrative leadership for the medical practice and the endoscopy center.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Recommends, develops, and implements improvements for the corporations.
  • Informs CEO about current trends, problems and medical activities to facilitate policy making.
  • Establishes, secures approval and overseas operating policies and procedures.
  • Oversees efforts for recruitment, development, and performance evaluation of all employees.
  • Recommends and facilitates employee recognition efforts and events.
  • Oversees the business and financial affairs of the corporations and fiscal management.
  • Oversees and manages the billing and collection processes/department.
  • Enhances operational effectiveness, emphasizing cost containment without jeopardizing important innovation or quality of care.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies. Continually monitors operations, programs, physical properties and initiates appropriate changes.
  • Resolves any medical-administrative problems and keeps lines of communication open with staff to ensure high employee morale and a professional, healthful clinic atmosphere.
  • Maintains professional affiliations and enhances professional development to keep current in the latest health care trends and developments.
  • Maintains strictest confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA and Hi-Tech laws.

Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration or health care administration or equivalent work experience.

Experience: Minimum three years of experience in health care operations and management.

Performance Requirements:

Knowledge:

  • Extensive knowledge of the health care industry, laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Understanding of healthcare finance, healthcare operations (to include operating an ambulatory care center), coding and reimbursement, risk management, and performance improvement.

Skills:

  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate, lead and manage others.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.

Work Environment: Position is in a well-lighted office environment.

Mental/Physical Requirements: Involves sitting approximately 90 percent of the day, walking or standing the remainder.
