POSITION SUMMARY
The Lead Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) at Zenith Behavioral Health is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the BHT team, ensuring high-quality patient care, and supporting the clinical team. This role involves direct patient interaction, team leadership, and collaboration with other healthcare professionals to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for clients.
Job Duties:
- Supervise, mentor, and support BHT staff to ensure effective team performance and adherence to facility protocols and standards.
- Provide direct care and supervision to clients, assisting with daily activities, monitoring behavior, and implementing individualized care plans.
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies or behavioral crises, utilizing de-escalation techniques and following established procedures.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with clinical staff, reporting on client progress, incidents, and any changes in behavior or condition.
- Accurately document client interactions, observations, and incidents in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and contributing to continuous improvement efforts
Qualification Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in psychology, social work, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Behavioral Health Technician or similar role, with demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Strong understanding of behavioral health principles and therapeutic techniques.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid; additional certifications may be required.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Working Conditions:
- This position may require evening, weekend, or holiday shifts.
- Work is performed in a behavioral health facility setting, involving interaction with clients experiencing mental health challenges.

- Stand, walk and sit during assigned shifts hours
- Can manually handle patient belongings with gloved hands
- Be able to manually assess a patient as part of a physical exam
- Climb and reach or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Speak and have access to the special senses within normal limits (hearing, taste, smell, etc.) as it applies to patient Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Must have the ability to train on physical restraining
- Must be capable of lifting, upto50pounds
