St Julien Hotel & Spa is looking for a passionate and hands-on Spa Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Spa and assisting the Spa Director with administrative duties such as payroll, group business bookings, and scheduling.



Essential Job Functions:

  • Recruit, select, train, and develop associates to ensure they are empowered to meet and exceed the Hotel’s luxury service standards.
  • Create and foster a work environment which minimizes turnover and maximizes retention.
  • Treat associates with respect and dignity in regards to scheduling, diversity, appreciation/recognition, suggestions for improvement, and other pertinent job-related issues.
  • Hold Spa staff accountable to the policies and procedures of the Hotel; provide confident and professional conflict resolution as needed.
  • Communicate performance expectations via ongoing, honest, and productive feedback; conduct annual performance appraisals for all associates.
  • Monitor/assess team performance by conducting regular service-focused trainings.
  • Communicate and engage with guests to ensure their experience was enjoyable.
  • Manage and resolve guest complaints; elevate larger issues to the attention of Spa Director when necessary.
  • Maintain excellent working knowledge of all Spa Front Desk duties in order to seamlessly fill-in as needed.
  • Possess a comprehensive working knowledge of all Spa treatments in order to accurately answer guest inquiries.
  • Assist in the daily operations of the Spa Gift Shop (inventory, purchasing, vendor relations, etc.).
  • Execute all department-specific HR processes in a timely manner and in accordance with Company standards (e.g. weekly payroll, status changes, promotions, pay increases, terminations).
  • Collaborate with Spa Director to set departmental work schedules, policies, and procedures to achieve efficiency and productivity objectives.
  • Help facilitate regularly scheduled meetings with Spa Leads and collaborate with Spa Director on the content and execution of the meetings.
  • Carefully adhere to all Spa opening and closing procedures, ensuring the safety and security of the operation, guests, visitors, and staff.
  • Other duties as requested by Spa Director.

Qualifications:

  • Previous management experience required. High-end Spa and/or luxury hospitality experience highly preferred.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of successfully working in, and leading, a team-oriented environment.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, general computer knowledge, and should be proficient using MS Office products.
  • Open and flexible availability is required. Interested candidates must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
