Position: Retail Supervisor

Reports to: Retail Manager

Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Southall Farm and Inn is a premier destination bringing nature, produce and people together in a powerful and unique way.

The Retail Supervisor will be responsible for the support of the retail program at Southall, including the Boutique, Farm Stand, and Spa Retail. Experience with e-commerce platforms and buying is preferred for this role. The ideal candidate will have retail experience, leadership qualities, cope under pressure, work independently, display initiative, communicative, quick learner, an eye for detail, excels in customer service and selling.

Leadership Responsibilities:

• Participate in the development of staff including training, support and supervision.

• Participate in the development of Standard Operating Procedures for the total retail operation.

• Maintain knowledge and understanding of current thinking in each program area property-wide.

• Assist with corporate gifts and ensuring groups are charged correctly.

• Attend stand-up meetings when Retail Manager cannot and ensure the retail staff is well-informed through daily communication.

• Assist in ensuring the retail staff is performing up to standard.

• Oversee material stock needed in wrapping and gift basket construction.

• Must be able to work weekends and flexible hours.

• Assist with developing an online sales avenue.

• Assist in communicating other with other departments.

• Assist in overseeing schedules.

• This candidate must be flexible and be willing to facilitate changes according to the needs of the business.

Skills and Experience:
• 3+ years’ experience in retail supervisory experience
• Entrepreneurial mindset – Problem solver and go-getter
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude
• Customer focused with strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to remain flexible throughout a collaborative retail experience
• Proficient communication skills - verbal and written
• Inventory management and merchandising abilities; strong attention to detail
• Holidays, nights and weekend availability to support the needs of the business
• Must be able to bend, reach, carry up to 30 pounds

Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher-level education preferred
