The Lead Donation Attendant is the first point of contact with our donors and represents the face of Goodwill. This position is critical to donation growth. The Lead Donation Attendant is held accountable for providing exceptional customer service to our donors with the goal of building customer loyalty and increasing the quantity and quality of donations Donation Attendants are responsible for educating the donor about the community impact of their donations.

What You Will Do:

  • Deliver an exceptional donor experience to represent Goodwill’s brand to our internal and external customer base
  • Clearly communicate Goodwill’s mission and the benefits of donating to Goodwill
  • Ensure Enterprise and departmental assets are managed in accordance with Enterprise policies and procedures, as well as execute all financial and budget obligations per established business priorities and plans
  • Model the behavior of an ideal Donation Attendant while serving as a leader and mentor to donation and retail store staff
  • Collaborates with Donation Management to complete key work responsibilities
  • Prepare weekly donation labor schedules, paperwork, and reports, using Goodwill information reporting systems and/or Microsoft Office suite. Visit designated offices as necessary to complete reports
  • Partner with Donation Leadership in scheduling discussions, operations activities, and personnel actions
  • Promptly greet donors and assist with unloading donations; timely communication of Goodwill’s donations policies and offer tax receipts, as necessary
  • Proper recording of daily donor counts, including but not limited to recyclable electronic donations, equipment filled and empty, ADC capacity, etc.
  • Sort, label, and seal (as required) donated goods by category; stack neatly and safely in designated equipment and handle in a manner to avoid damage or breakage
  • Maintain clean housekeeping in and around donation area (within no less than a 50 ft. radius)
  • Assist supervisor in providing on-the-job training to new staff and participants, and volunteers, as directed
  • Work donation drives and other events, and meetings as necessary

What You Bring to The Role:

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent and one (1) year of experience in Donations or Supply Chain
  • Friendly, good-natured, enjoy working with and around others
  • Able to provide exceptional customer service to a diverse donor community
  • Comfortable working within a diverse and inclusive social enterprise with individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences
  • Creative problem-solver that is especially skilled in responding/resolving donor inquires and complaints
  • Read and write English proficiently or have enrolled in and are on track to successfully complete an approved ESL program
  • Computer literate and basic Math skills
  • Basic written (writes legibly), verbal communication (comfortable speaking to others), and listening skills
  • Available to work on evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Able to lift at least 50 lbs
  • Able to stand on hard surfaces for an extended period
