Position: Technical Manager, Design ServicesThe job title is Technical Manager, Design Services. Similar job titles are Design Manager and Drafting Manager.

About this role:

They are looking for someone with super strong modeling experience in CREO, (formerly ProE, Pro Engineer, or Windchill) and someone who has led a drafting department who knows modeling techniques, standards, etc.

This person will lead the Design and Drafting Services for multiple manufacturing plants in Oklahoma City.

This person will need to have a great deal of experience in leading drafting teams and most know what "best practices" look like.

They will let someone work for 2 weeks in OKC and then 2 weeks at their home until they sell their house.

Responsibilities:

Plans assigns, and reviews the work of drafters and designers for both internal staff and external resources working on design projects. Ensures deadlines, goals, and production standards for the organization are met.

Led a team of Designers / Drafters, both internal and external, to design & optimize systems and components employing the latest 3D modeling software & design techniques, including but not limited to sheet metal fabrication, piping, component layout, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics

Acts as a mentor to Design staff.

Supervise, evaluate, and train team members. Facilitate talent development.

Set up training programs for personnel within the department and assign resources to maintain the program.

Lead the development of processes and procedures for best practices with Design standards.

Ensure that the team adheres to the Product Development Process (PDP).

Create Documentation, Reports & BOMs to facilitate the manufacturing process.

Interface with the manufacturing personnel in optimizing assembly methods to ensure Design for Manufacturability has been achieved.

Implementation and adherence to GD&T and ANSIY14.5.
