As an machine operator, you will set up and operate various equipment utilized in the printing and mailing industry. The ideal candidate possesses a keen attention to detail, strong technical skills, and a commitment to safety protocols. This position will also include assignments & back-up duties in between jobs received. These duties will be assigned by management and can/will change from day to day.


Job Description: Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited, to the following. Please note other duties may be assigned accordingly.

  • Perform pre- and post-shift physical inspection of equipment and supplies for jobs.
  • Attend daily production meetings/huddles to prioritize job schedules for assigned equipment.
  • Load & prepare all necessary materials for job assignments.
  • Review job assignments and work orders to verify job requirements and tasks for each job.
  • Set-up machinery, including plates and adjusting equipment, to run each job according to the work order specifics for each job.
  • Clear jams and keep documents in proper order.
  • Perform minor, routine, and non-complicated maintenance of equipment when required.
  • Maintain cleanliness of general work areas to include removal of all excess materials & trash.
  • Follow Standard Work procedures.
  • Make ready, operate, maintain and have ability to troubleshoot the mail inserting process as needed.
  • Follow QC procedures and complete all paperwork, checklists, logs, and computer functions (piece level verification, job scanning and tracking, MRDF, etc.) in accordance with Standard Processes.
  • Ability to set-up, troubleshoot, and operate mailing systems as well as peripheral equipment such as busters and folders.

  • Ability to read, understand, and accurately execute work orders and special instructions from supervisors.
  • Detail oriented & quality consciousness to spot check and provide QA on jobs.
  • Ability to receive training and instruction at all skill levels.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
