Position Summary:

Responsible for the day-to-day culinary operations at Steelhouse Omaha. This position takes the lead on purchasing food, maintaining quality standards, and assists w/ menu development. The Associate Executive Chef strives to provide a best-in-class culinary experience by leading a team to maximize kitchen efficiency and quality. This position is responsible for controlling food costs, stocking products and ensuring compliance with Health Department codes.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plans, purchases, and receives supplies for operating needs.
  • Conducts month end inventory counts. Ensures accuracy and completeness.
  • Leads Steelhouse Omaha’s hospitality and concession menu development.
  • Maintains accurate food preparation records and recipe books.
  • Ensures all food preparation and cooking is of high quality, good taste, and that food is presented in a visually appealing manner.
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary environment in all food prep and storage areas.
  • Tracks food costs and updates pricing regularly to ensure we are priced appropriately.
  • Leads a kitchen support staff to execute menus in a timely manner while maintaining excellent quality.
  • Supports the Executive Chef and O-pa culinary team across the 3 venues as required.
  • Complete schedule for the Steelhouse culinary team and communicate staffing need to the Food and Beverage Management team.
  • Work with the Executive Chef to ensure consistency across our venues.
  • Takes the lead on Orpheum hospitality when required.
  • Promote O-pa Core Values of Trust, Team, Integrity and Inclusion
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

  • Must have 2 years experience as a Sous Chef or higher.
  • Must utilize HACCP guidelines and procedures for all food prep
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skill to lead staff with the highest standards
  • Has knowledge of and can implement local, state, and federal labor law regulations
  • Strong customer service, utilizing effective communication with employees, customers, all levels of management, and vendors.
  • Has the ability to multi-task, be detail oriented, and work independently with minimal direction
  • SERV Safe Certified or ability to become SERV Safe Certified
Requirements:

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Graduate of an accredited Culinary Institution preferred

  • Dishwasher


Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
  • Ability to work on your feet 7.5 hours/day, excluding breaks
  • Ability to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods
