Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Carrier Sales Rep to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with truckload carriers, negotiating freight rates, and driving carrier performance to meet our business objectives. The ideal candidate has a strong background in carrier sales, exceptional communication skills, and a proven track record of achieving sales targets as a carrier sales rep.

Responsibilities:
  • Solicit new carriers to join our carrier network.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with carriers, ensuring a consistent and reliable network of transportation providers.
  • Negotiate freight rates and contracts with carriers to maximize profitability.
  • Monitor carrier performance,
  • Collaborate with internal teams to drive operational efficiencies and improve service delivery to customers.
  • Identify new carrier opportunities and evaluate their capabilities to expand our carrier network.
  • Ensure all parties are informed of route changes, delays, freight concerns or other issues as necessary.
  • Manage day-to-day planning and scheduling of coverage for loads to ensure all customer's needs are met in the agreed upon time period.
  • Schedule pickup and delivery appointment times; use discretion and insight when considering all factors affecting timeframe, including weather, traffic, miles, service rules, etc.
  • Schedules and dispatches while ensuring compliance of Federal, State, and Local regulations.
  • Responsible for timely updating of load statuses to the TMS.Solicit new carriers to join our carrier network.
Requirements:
  • Three (3) years or more carrier sales experience required.
  • Strong Book of carriers preferred.
  • Solid understanding of transportation operations, freight management, and carrier pricing.
  • Working knowledge of the transportation industry, carrier modes and equipment.
  • Demonstrated PC skills in MS Outlook, Excel, Word.
  • Clear understanding of a Brokerage TMS and carrier onboarding system.
  • Experience with carrier compliance systems for carrier vetting.
  • Know and understand carrier compliance as it relates to fraud, double brokering and identify theft.Three (3) years or more carrier sales experience required.
